Erasmus University College (EUC) is the international three-year Bachelor programme (BSc) in Liberal Arts and Sciences, offered by Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Our programme offers an inspiring combination of flexibility and structure: flexibility to explore different academic fields, with structure to ensure that the knowledge you gain is specific and valuable for further studies and careers.
Career Support at EUC is set up with several parties within the EUC community.
First year students take part in the Personal Development Track. This programme support students with personal development; and that is where professional development starts. During that first year, students are asked to continuously work on short-term and long-term goals, talk to their peers about their progression, and they meet their EUC mentor several times. The major coordinators and Head of Departments are available for personal meetings to discuss study plans and future career options.
Student Counsellors are the central point of contact for an EUC student or staff member who wishes to discuss students’ personal circumstances, functional disabilities and related study skills and planning. Student Counsellors offer confidentiality and refer to other services as required. A student counsellor is dedicated to each new class of students, which means that you will have the same Student Counsellor throughout your academic career at EUC. Every student has the opportunity to meet with their Student Counsellor by booking an appointment via intranet or attending open hours.
Erasmus University College (EUC) requires its students to live in the LUCIA residence in the city centre during their first year of studies. Living together with your fellow students provides an excellent opportunity to get to know each other well and to build solid friendships.
Considering studying at EUC requires a lot of group-work, living together also makes it easier to plan these group meetings and generally enhances the overall academic community, which is essential to our philosophy of what makes a great university college. Additionally, living on campus has the benefit of allowing you to immediately focus on your studies considering your housing is already arranged for you.The University Library has an extensive collection of books and journals on every subject that is taught at the Erasmus University. The library also supports students and staff in various aspects of their education, teaching and research. Moreover, the library is a nice place to meet, work together and study in silence.
In our experience most foreign insurances do not sufficiently cover medical expenses in the Netherlands (e.g. due to the relatively high costs for medical care in the Netherlands), and an extra insurance package is required. Check this carefully!
The Erasmus Sports Centre, located on the Woudestein campus of Erasmus University Rotterdam, offers over 50 sports, available on all levels. The Center organizes sport events, tournaments, and internal competitions, personal training and body fit courses run by certified trainers. The Sport Center is open 7 days per week.
The EUCSA is the central organization overseeing various committees that curate events for the community, such as the introduction week. During this week, incoming students get to know the program, city, and their peers.
EUCSA offers diverse committees like Film & Photography, Charity, Music, or Queer Collective. They provide an amazing opportunity to develop skills within areas you’re passionate about.
