Student services

The Help Desk provides a single point of contact for the technology needs of Butler students, faculty, and staff. The Help Desk provides self service, phone, email, and walk-in support for a variety of technology services. The Help Desk does not support faculty or staff personal or home computers.

The Help Desk aims to provide excellent service to each and every user. This can cause hold times on the phone to be lengthy. Using self service or email for non urgent requests and issues will prevent users from having to wait on the phone.

Housing services

  • Moving into your first place away from home is a liberating, exciting time. And at Butler, you’ll share the experience with new roommates and neighbors, all part of a campus community that make residence halls feel more like homes. Some of your best relationships will begin right here. Nearly all incoming first-year students, and most sophomores and juniors, live on campus
  • The Residence Life Office is responsible for promoting and maintaining an environment on campus where students are free to develop academically and socially. Developing a sense of personal and communal responsibility and respecting the rights of others also is an important part of this program.

Library services

The combined holdings of the Butler Libraries include access to approximately 500,000 e-books, 200 databases, 35,000 electronic journal subscriptions, 225,000 print materials, 16,000 audiovisual materials, and more than 17,000 musical scores.

ICT services

All residence hall computer labs are maintained by IT and are available 24 hours for hall residents. Both Windows and Mac computers are available. Paper and toner for these lab printers are available from each hall's front desk.

Irwin Library has 36 Windows computers and seven Macs.

Medical services

At Butler University, we believe having a strong sense of balance and personal well-being leads to student success in the classroom and in life; both during their time at Butler, and post-graduation. We take a holistic and dynamic approach in offering a comprehensive suite of services and programs.
