History
From the beginning, Hope College has looked to the future. Here, historic architecture fits comfortably with world-class facilities: Van Vleck Hall, built in 1857, is just a block from our Pelletron particle accelerator.
Education
Offering 91 majors, minors and pre-professional programs, Hope provides the flexibility for students to pursue their academic interests. Our student:faculty ratio of 11:1 ensures that our small class sizes encourage support and mentoring.
Research
Each spring, hundreds of students present the results of their research projects at Hope’s annual Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Performance. In 2015, 360 students presented 229 projects at the Celebration.
Career
Careers change. Our commitment to support you never will. The Hope College Alumni Association offers you a variety of opportunities to stay connected and communicate with the alumni network. Hope uses career development software called Handshake to manage job postings for students and alumni. You can upload a resume, view positions and volunteer opportunities, or post a position.

Housing services
Living on campus is an integral part of the Hope College experience. Our goal is to create residential communities where students can:
- Flourish to meet their human potential
- Recognize, embrace and celebrate the uniqueness of all people
- Foster holistic personal development
- Actively engage and support Hope’s mission of academic excellence, which is grounded in the historic Christian faith
Through your residential experience, you’ll grow within your community, learn what it means to be a good neighbor in a global society and develop skills to prepare you for independent living post-graduation.
