History

We opened on Sept. 1, 1858, as The Missionary Institute of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, officially becoming Susquehanna University in 1895. During the 20th century, we transformed into a four-year university offering a range of bachelor's degrees for students. In 1903, the school adopted the colors orange and maroon. Throughout the years, we've developed a variety of traditions.

Student services

The division of student life is dedicated to developing compassionate, confident, and respectful community members. Through our carefully planned programs, services, and individual interactions, the division of student life prepares students for success in a diverse, global society.

Integrating academic learning and student development, the division of student life challenges students to acquire an awareness of creative and cultural forces that shape the world, an integrated set of intellectual skills, a mature understanding of self, and an understanding of personal ethical responsibility. 

Housing services

Living and learning happens day and night—much of it in and around our residential housing communities.

Whether you live in a traditional dorm, suite, townhouse or on-campus apartment, you'll find it easy to make yourself at home. All feature lounges, kitchenettes and study areas in addition to student rooms. They're equipped with Wi-Fi and cable, and are within a 10-minute walk of our academic buildings.

We're a residential campus with housing guaranteed for all four years. All non-commuter students live on campus.

Library services

The Blough-Weis Library supports the academic vibrancy of Susquehanna University by providing quality resources and services that help members of the campus community pursue their intellectual and cultural interests.  

ICT services

The Information Technology and Help Desk team work hard to make sure that campus technology works smoothly for everyone-from students and faculty to alumni and visitors.Our dedication to technological advances, computer protection and information management make it possible for the university to run efficiently. 

Medical services

We partner with Geisinger Medical Center physician providers to offer high quality, compassionate and confidential medical care in a safe and supportive environment.

Our team of physicians and nurses are available for same-day urgent care needs, for physical exams, women's and men's health issues, nutritionist care, preventive care, and much more.  

Campus life

Located near the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River, we are situated on 325 scenic acres in the charming town of Selinsgrove, Pa.

We're home to 2,200 undergraduate men and women and are known for our safe and welcoming community and dynamic learning environment.

Sports facilities

We consider wellness to be a way of life. We can help you make good decisions that affect not only your time at Susquehanna, but well beyond.

Always supportive & dedicated

Excellent professors who are dedicated to the success of their students, plenty of academic assistance is provided on all subjects. The courses offered are diverse, allowing students to have a well-rounded educational experience while pursuing their degree.
