Assumption College, a Catholic institution sponsored by the Augustinians of the Assumption and rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, strives to form graduates known for critical intelligence, thoughtful citizenship and compassionate service.

History

Founded in 1904, Assumption College stands today as one of the top New England Catholic colleges, combining a foundation of liberal arts and sciences with more than 40 majors across the life sciences, business, education and communications fields.

Education

Our students are exposed to an array of disciplines that expand their minds and enhance their critical thinking skills as they consider new ideas, new ways of looking at the world, and new ways of questioning. Faculty members create an academically stimulating environment that challenges students to achieve their full potential as they think through their values and life. At the same time, the skills students learn at Assumption also prepare them for successful and rewarding careers.

Research

In the Assumpionist tradition we encourage intellectual, social and personal growth. We take religion and faith seriously as an integral part of the human experience. We explore questions that get to the deepest desires of the human heart and recognize the role of faith and reason in the search for truth.

Valuable research is performed every day at Assumption -from evaluation of literature to study of international affairs and business practices to the study of genes and processes that may be instrumental to the detection and treatment of breast cancer- but the value of student and faculty research extends beyond proximate analysis and discovery.

Career

Assumption College’s Career Development and Internship Center (CDIC) helps students build the skills and experience they will need for a successful – and meaningful – career. Our CDIC advisors are available to assist students from the first year through graduation in choosing the academic major and career options that are right for them and ensuring that they have the professional development and networking tools to make those aspirations a reality.

Application for Full Degree Study Abroad

I have completed four semesters of my bachelor’s degree so far, and overall my experience has been really good and helpful for my learning. I liked how my teachers explained the concepts and how I got a chance to build a strong base in my field. I also enjoyed doing assignments and small projects because they helped me understand things in a practical way. At the same time, I feel there could be more focus on practical work, real-world projects, and exposure to modern tools and technologies. That would make learning even more interesting and useful. Overall, my experience has been positive, and it has motivated me to continue my studies abroad so I can learn more and improve my skills in a better academic environment.
