Campus life
The Neuherberg campus has a lot to offer besides science: The central meeting place for all students is the Graduate Students’ Cafe, and there are numerous sports facilities for activities such as soccer, beach volleyball or tennis. DINI, the graduate students’ initiative, regularly organizes activities especially for graduate students, and members of the Welfare Association at Helmholtz Zentrum München can rent various holiday apartments at favorable prices.
Sports facilities
- Tennis: There are three sand tennis courts on the center premises. They are maintained by the Tennis Association Neuherberg. Membership is open to our employees, family members and friends. For temporary employees there are favorably priced short-term memberships.
- Soccer: The soccer team trains on Thursday starting at 5:00 pm, in winter starting at 1:30 pm on the field east of Building 20. New players are always welcome.
- Jogging: Our jogging group has been training for several years and regularly participates in the Helmholtz Zentrum München competition (b2run) in the summer in Munich
- Yoga, Pilates: The "Sozialwerk" offers yoga and pilates.
Student clubs
The Welfare Association (Sozialwerk e.V.) at the Helmholtz Zentrum München is a registered organisation whose aim is to provide its members with possibilities for supplementing the existing social welfare benefits.
