Tampa, Florida, United States
From the gleaming minarets of Plant Hall – Tampa’s signature National Historic Landmark – to the $650 million in new facilities and technology, The University of Tampa’s globally connected campus is the beating heart of a vibrant urban oasis.

History

On Aug. 2, 1933, Tampa Junior College was transformed into The University of Tampa when its headquarters moved from the local high school to what is now known as Plant Hall. Leading the new institution was Frederic H. Spaulding, the former principal of Hillsborough High School and the man who had been the motivating force behind establishing the first university for Tampa’s high school graduates.

Education

A medium-sized private university, UT offers more than 200 academic programs taught by a faculty as passionate about students’ success as they are about their areas of expertise.

Research

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) provides management information and analytical support to UT’s decision makers to aid in strategic planning, internal decision making and external accountability. Through collaborative leadership and guidance, the office provides a broad range of planning, research and assessment activities, including those that support student learning outcomes assessment, department/program review, and institutional and specialized accreditation.

Career

The Office of Career Services serves as a bridge between students' college experience and life after UT. Starting the first year at UT and continuing beyond graduation, we are here to help students explore who they are and their career options, connect their experience—whether it is academic, campus involvement and engagement, internships or work experience to careers or graduate school – and achieve their post-graduation goals.

Tampa

Real nice university. Right across the river from downtown and so many events to do over there. You’re not allowed cars on campus as a freshman but you still manage to get around. You can almost walk everywhere especially if it’s downtown.

why UT is an okay school

This university of my major work very well because they have a great Business program and amazing professors who know what they are talking about and are willing to help students. the only thing about this university living is very expensive and it is hard to get on-campus housing during your first two years there.
