Student services

The Office of New Student Services works with new freshman and transfer students as well as their parents during their first year at SUNY Oneonta. We are here to provide all new students with assistance as they transition to the college, whether from high school, or another college. We want you to thrive here.

Housing services

Living on campus is comfortable, convenient and fun, with lots of opportunities to make friends and get involved. Over the past few years, many of our 15 residence halls have been renovated, with amenities such as fitness centers, kitchens, computer labs and front-loading washing machines (no quarters required!) Housing rates are fixed for each incoming class.

Library services

Housed in an attractive, five-story building, Milne Library has incorporated both technology and academic support services in its transformation to a learning commons model. The learning commons provides access to traditional library services, including reference, circulation, and interlibrary loan, and offers learning support across the disciplines.

Nestled in the hills of Central New York, the college’s idyllic setting is ideal for study, adventure and self-discovery. Just “up the hill” from the charming City of Oneonta, our campus and the surrounding community engages, nurtures, and inspires.

Sports facilities

The Field House is home to the basketball and volleyball teams while serving as the indoor training facility for the track & field, baseball, softball and lacrosse programs.The Field House includes a 200-meter indoor running track, racquet ball courts, dance studio for physical education classes and aerobics classes and a state-of-the-art fitness center that is equipped with cardio theatre machines, free weights and cybex equipment.On the lower level of the Field House you'll find the equipment room, training room and locker rooms.On the third floor there are four coaches offices along with the main athletics department office. There is also a skybox, 

Student clubs

The Inter-Greek Council is run by an elected board of students as well as one representative from each on-campus group. All recognized fraternities and sororities have at least one faculty advisor. All recognized Greek Letter Organizations are required by the College to abide by the Code of Rights and Responsibilities for Greek Social Letter Organizations. All of these organizations are supported by the Inter-Greek Council.
