Long before we were Queens University, we were the Charlotte Female Institute. That was 1857, the year of our founding in downtown Charlotte. Since then, much has changed: our school is now co-ed. We offer master’s degrees. And we’re located in Myers Park, just three short miles from our original location.
Research Companion was developed by ProQuest as an information literacy tool. It was built to help students do more effective scholarly research and to support educators as they teach the core information literacy principles of finding, evaluating, and using information.

Everett Library, located in the heart of Myers Park, houses a collection of more than 60,000 books and videos and approximately 100 print periodicals in open stacks. Additionally, the Library offers access to a wide range of electronic resources including e-books and academic databases to support scholarship and inquiry at Queens University of Charlotte.
Our Health and Wellness Center doesn’t look or feel like most. Ours looks and feels like a home—complete with comfy furniture, fireplace, and even a dog—and we welcome students to take advantage of our many services, treating both body and mind.
Our campus is nestled in the historic neighborhood of Myers Park, just minutes from uptown Charlotte. Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country, and it's also an extended classroom for our students, full of research, service and internship opportunities.
The Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation, located on the main campus at 1900 Selwyn Avenue, is a three-story, 145,000 square-foot building, which will provide incredible new facilities for student wellness, recreation and athletics. It is the home to the men's and women's basketball teams, men's and women's swim teams, and the volleyball team. The building replaces the Ovens Athletic Center, which was demolished in 2011 to make way for the new facility. Housing three basketball/volleyball courts, a 33-meter stretch pool, an indoor walking track and a 5,000-square-foot fitness center, it is one of the premier facilities in the region at the NCAA Division II level.

Being an international student in Queens university has been a slight challenge for me. About 80% of students are from Canada or USA, whereas I'm from a whole different continent . Cultural difference is significant and I'm still making effort to adopt to the new environment, since I just moved to Kingston this September. Lack of international students makes it hard to resonate with other students as majority of them are from small towns and unfamiliar with the fact that certain individuals might be from a different country, even different continent. Overall, experience has been different for me than for local student, but I still managed to have a great time and looking forward gaining knowledge that would be useful in my future career.
