With an entirely new multicultural learning environment consisting of half international students and half Japanese/domestic students, APU’s aim was to provide an international education that lead to the development of global leaders, working in a diverse range of fields and industries. In these past fifteen years, this goal has not only been reached as APU now has over 10,000 alumni.
As APU’s graduate programs are offered entirely in English, students are not required to know any Japanese to gain admission. English speaking students come to APU and study their degree in English, are taught by international professors and lecturers, and study alongside English speaking classmates from around the world. Our system has made it possible for outstanding scholars to study in Japan in an unprecedented international learning environment.
Graduate students have access to and support from a worldwide network which consists of international heads of state, ambassadors and industry leaders (Advisory Committee), distinguished researchers from around the world (Academic Advisors) and institutions associated with APU’s faculty members. This network also includes APU alumni who are spread across the world working in an array of fields and industries. Utilizing this network is indispensable for our students’ careers.

APU's facilities allow you to lead a healthy lifestyle and maintain your physical fitness while pursuing your studies. In our gymnasium, you can enjoy various indoor sports, such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and indoor football. Inside the fitness center, there are over ten different types of training machines, including treadmills, bikes, and free weights. Outdoor facilities include five tennis courts, two multipurpose sports fields, and a basketball court. These are available to students upon reservation.
The APU campus offers endless opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of different cultures. A prime example is the array of club and circle activities students can choose from. Working together on a project with friends of different culture, values and language backgrounds is an integral part of the APU learning style. APU has an enormous range of clubs and circles to get involved with including language and intercultural awareness clubs, and globally-minded student organisations engaged in international problem solving initiatives in Japan and around the world.

Studying in Japan is always been my dream, but I do not want to expose myself only to Japanese. It is such a complicated dream, but turns out, I found APU that can offer both. I never imagine that I will be in this super diverse environment while keep enjoying Japanese culture and mingle with the locals. APU offered a great MBA program which supports us with a lot of case study and exposed us to teamwork in international community. You might think that you need to go to US, getting the MBA degree from top tier university there, in order to be great leader. But, after I studied here, I realized that what I need is not to expose myself to only brilliant student in the world. I need to expose myself to people from different different background and culture, who has totally different point of view. Studying in APU, helping me to know and be emphasize to the world condition. I could say, APU is the mini version of the world.
