National Institute of Technology, Rourkela

The campus of the Institute consisting of the Institute buildings, halls of residence and staff colony is situated at the eastern end of Rourkela steel city, beyond Sector-1 over an area of 262 hectares of land provided by the Government of Orissa. It is a residential campus offering accommodation to faculty, staff and students. The campus has all the amenities for developing personal, social and academic skills of the student community.

The Institute provides its students with world-class sports facilities which include a Football –Hockey stadium named DILIP TIRCKEY STADIUM. It also houses a gymnasium with all the modern facilities. The gymnasium also has 2 instructors to help the students.

Apart from that, we also have the SACHIN TENDULKAR CRICKET GROUND equipped with flood lights. We also have two tennis courts, a basketball court with separate timings for male and female students.

NIT Rourkela generates multicultural awareness among students through a variety of events, and enriches their experience of living and studying. As a multicultural organization, we support international students from all the backgrounds. In order to address the interests and needs of the international student body, NIT Rourkela regularly collaborates with governmental bodies, educational providers, student societies and community organizations.
