75 years of Tradition of excellence in Engineering & Technology Education, Research and Innovations" Delhi College of Engineering, (initially established with the name – Delhi Polytechnic) came into existence in the year 1941 to cater the needs of Indian industries for trained technical manpower with practical experience and sound theoretical knowledge.
The university offers 17 undergraduate, 22 postgraduates and 17 Ph. D. programs. The Engineering programs include conventional disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Applied Engineering disciplines, such as Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Automobile Engineering, Polymer Science, and Chemical Technology.
DTU focuses on research in the emerging areas of technology, science, management and other related and/or interdisciplinary areas. Ithas enabling research environment to create knowledge for the service of humanity. We will continue to work hard to make DTU as a favorite destination for best minds to do research in their chosen areas. We would like to create centres of excellence in areas with potentially large societal impact. We also would like to increase number of intellectual properties including publications. We would like to promote and facilitate every research initiative.

The library is a central place for academic and research activities. It has a well-equipped conference hall, reading rooms, and a rich collection of relevant books and journals. The university has a DTU Studio utilized for recording of lectures, events, and talks and has campus wide networking connecting the computer center, the academic wings, the administrative block and the hostels.
DTU is a Wi-Fi enabled Campus with state-of-the-art IT Infrastructure with Advanced Technological Facilities the students have access to high speed internet services round the clock.
DTU has 164 acres of a lush green, tech-savvy main campus, with approximately 1,56,000 square meters of built up area, 15 academic departments, research centres, and residences for students, faculty, and staff. It is a zero discharge campus having Sewage Treatment Plant and Waste to Energy Plant in the campus itself. The University, as on date, has 11,019 students in its undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs.
DTU is having 450 m. track, ground for Football, Hockey, Cricket, two courts for Volely ball, two courts for basketball, three courts for Tennis Iand five courts for Badminton, Table Tennis rooms, Chess Rooms, Carrom Rooms and Gyms are also available in the each hostel of the college campus.

It's a very good university and one of the top best engineering university in India. It promotes self learning, supports each student any way possible. This University's core is engineering but it also offers design courses and courses of management.
Delhi Technological University (DTU) stands out as an excellent institution that blends academic rigor with an enriching campus experience. The university’s Civil Engineering program is especially well-regarded, offering a strong foundation in technical knowledge while also providing opportunities to specialize in fields like Disaster Management, which was my minor. DTU’s faculty members are both knowledgeable and supportive, encouraging a mix of theoretical understanding and practical application. The state-of-the-art laboratories and well-structured curriculum ensure students are well-prepared for industry challenges. The emphasis on research and project-based learning allows students to explore their interests in-depth, fostering innovation and critical thinking.
My overall study experience in Economics and Entrepreneurship has been both intellectually enriching and practically transformative. I particularly appreciated how the program combined economic theory with entrepreneurial thinking, allowing me to understand not only how economies function but also how innovative ideas can be turned into sustainable ventures. The emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application helped me develop a strong analytical mindset. What I valued most was the relevance of the coursework to contemporary development challenges. Courses in economics strengthened my ability to analyze policies and market dynamics, while entrepreneurship modules encouraged creativity, initiative, and opportunity identification. This combination was especially meaningful in shaping my interest in using economic knowledge to support community development and public service. However, there is room for improvement in increasing access to practical experiences such as business incubation programs, internships, and exposure to digital entrepreneurship tools. Expanding these opportunities would better prepare students to translate ideas into impactful projects and enterprises. In summary, my study experience was highly rewarding, equipping me with a balanced foundation in both Economics and Entrepreneurship, and preparing me to contribute effectively to sustainable development and innovation
