Government College University, Faisalabad has emerged as a leading center of learning and research in a short span of time. The University with its dynamic faculty and innovative syllabi has become a catalyst of intellectual, social and industrial change. 

The long journey that started with the humble beginning reached its climax when it was granted the status of University in October 2002.

We offer Undergraduate, Graduate and Post-Graduate programs. The academic departments work under their respective faculties and are committed to impart quality education.We offer courses with a commitment to fostering a thirst for knowledge and understanding in disciplines of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Computer Sciences, Law, Pharmaceutics, Business Studies, Social Sciences, Islamic & Oriental Learning and Medical Sciences.

Student services

The Students’ Financial Aid Office is primarily responsible for providing all information, services, and assembling financial resources that are available to and/or needed by students who are attending Government College University in order to obtain an undergraduate or graduate degree. Financial aid resources are those that are provided by both internal (university and/or endowment funds), governmental (PEEF, Professional Education Internal Merit and District Merit Scholarship) and private agencies or organizations.

Housing services

Presently university Hall Council office consists of seven girls hostels, named Federal Hall, Khadija Hall and Ayesha Hall, situated in the Allama Iqbal Campus and new campus, having residential capacity of about 1600 students. Keeping in view, the growing demand of accommodation, for the students coming from far-flung areas, construction of four more hostels was planned in the new campus. These are under completion and with this an additional capacity of 1600 students will be available at the strength of Hall Council at the end of this year. 

Library services

To facilitate research in the University, HEC has provided access to digital libraries. A programme has been formulated to provide researchers and students with access to latest, authentic literature from high quality journals, database and articles covering a wide range of disciplines. 

ICT services

The University has the credit of being the first university which is using this hi-end intelligent Wi-Fi system. The wireless setup comprises modern state of the art technology which is both robust and resilient. The IT Services Department provides 24/7 internet access.

Medical services

The Medical Health Centre provides first aid and outdoor medical facilities to the students. The outdoor medicines are also provided to the students and emergency cases are referred to Allied Hospital and DHQ hospital on University Ambulance. The staff members of the university are also facilitated at Health Centre in routine and emergency cases. 

Campus life

The University runs a fleet of buses for facilitating students to commute to and from campus around the city. All buses are deluxe and high capacity. The transport facility is being provided within a radius of 30 km. The students are required to apply for the same at least 15 days before the start of session.Transport facility is allotted on semester basis for students admitted for regular programme for the duration of regular academic session. It is generally not provided after the end of academic session for any purpose like summer school/reappear examination/ make up examination/PEP classes etc.

Student clubs

 Life on campus for students, teaching and non-teaching staff is marked with multidimensional cultural functions and academic activity. Various seminars on current national and international issues are also been organized. Musical Evenings, Sham-e-Ghazal, Theatrical Performances by the students, Debate Competitions, Fun Fair and regular sports activities in the University keep the students involved in creative activities, polish their organizational skills thus keeping them away from getting themselves involved in any anti-social or extremist activity. 

The program of College of Law, Engineering, Pharmacy and Education are accredited with their respective professional councils and these professional bodies visit as per their schedule.
