CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationalist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
A promoter of sports, music and literary activities, it is a nurturing ground for creative excellence.
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) publishes six peer-reviewed research journals and has published more than 300 books in Kannada and English.

STUDENT ACCOMMODATION SERVICES has well-furnished residence halls for non-resident students. Keeping in view the University vision of Excellence and Service. CHRIST(Deemed to be University) residence halls focus on students' holistic development and provide them a nurturing home away from home. It helps students to achieve academic success and enables their participation in student development activities such as extra/co-curricular activities and sports activities enthusiastically.
The library follows an Open Access policy. You can pick a book of your choice from the shelves and may refer to it in the library or borrow them. The library has a good collection of Encyclopaedia’s, Yearbooks and other reference titles. The reference books cannot be borrowed.
The library has 200 computer terminals for internet use. The internet and Wi-Fi service is available in all the libraries.
The campus is a living example of harmonious multiculturalism with students from all the states and union territories and around 60 different countries.
One of the first institutions in India to be accredited in 1998 by the NAAC, and subsequently in 2004 and 2016, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has the top grade ‘A’ in the 4-point scale.

My experience with BCU and its stream associate Acharya institution has been enriching and rich with exposure. The BSW program provided a good balance between theoretical and practical knowledge with the fieldwork placements with NGOs and community organization which help me gain real experience and where able to develop my skills in communication, teamwork, time management, and my listening skills and problem solving skills. The classes were designed thoughtfully combining theory and practical exercises with the guides and support of the professors and great teachers. They shares real-life experiences and mentored us during academic period . our campus life were vibrant and engaging with seminars, workshops and other cultural actives in every field of art and personal well beings and This experience has broadened my vision. I feel more confident in my abilities to make a meaningful impact. BCU has not only equipped me with practical skills but also inspired a life long dedication i am grateful and highly recommend BCU to anyone seeking a comprehensive learning experience
It's good University with lot of streams available for students to choose bases on their interest. The pedagogy is helpful for effective learning and it makes students industry ready. Placements are comparably not good.
Christ is a good college on paper but in reality it is not student friendly just like most of the other Indian education institutions. The administration and the examination board of the college worry more than the normal amount about maintaining a superficial academic integrity. The student council is basically another tool for the college management instead of it bridging the gap between the students and the management.
