History
Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences was founded 1 January 1988 with the merging of nineteen Boards of educational institutes in Rotterdam, Delft and Dordrecht. This was the start of a school for higher education in Rotterdam and the surrounding area. At that time the school had nearly 12,500 students and 1,500 employees making it the largest school of higher education in The Netherlands.
Education
Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences offers a range of international study programmes at undergraduate (Bachelor) and postgraduate (Master) levels. We also offer special preparation programmes for Bachelor and Master Programmes, as well as accelerated programmes, exchange programmes for students from partner universities, summer courses and tailor-made business courses. All programmes listed are taught in English.
Research
Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences research focuses on 6 regionally embedded themes, organised in 6 research centres. Multiple professors conduct the studies within each of these research centres.

Housing services
We do this in two ways:
- We reserve approximately 220 rooms per year from Stichting Studenten Huisvesting (Foundation for Student Housing, SSH)
- For those who are not eligible for SSH rooms, we provide you with clear and honest information about how to find a room on the private market, see Alternative Housing Providers.
Library services
The library helps students, lecturers and researchers find information. We are also your go-to for discussing copyright issues and 21st century information skills.
