Practical Law Studies at Ton Duc Thang University
I am a student at Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City, a well-regarded institution known for its high rankings both nationally and internationally. The university offers a professional learning environment, and it holds a special place for me because my mother also studied here, majoring in Sociology.
Law Program at Ton Duc Thang University
The Law program at Ton Duc Thang University is designed to align with the Vietnamese education system while integrating international standards, ensuring students receive a well-rounded and competitive education. It focuses on five key aspects: knowledge, critical thinking, practical skills, professional behavior, and attitude.
Students gain a comprehensive understanding of various legal fields. The curriculum covers financial law, commercial law, economic law, and civil law, alongside other important areas such as family law, property law, inheritance rights, criminal and administrative law, environmental law, criminology, contract disputes, commercial disputes, complaints, human rights, and citizenship rights.
One of the most valuable aspects of the program is the balance between theory and practice. Practical learning is emphasized through mock trials, allowing students to analyze and solve real-world legal cases, just like professional legal practitioners. This hands-on approach sharpens their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Thanks to the university’s strong network of businesses and international experts, students have access to short-term training programs that keep them updated on both domestic and international legal frameworks. They also gain real-world experience through internships and corporate field trips, further enhancing their practical knowledge. Additionally, for advanced courses, experienced lawyers and industry professionals co-teach with university lecturers, guiding students in research projects directly within corporate settings. This integration strengthens the applicability of theoretical knowledge and prepares students for professional practice.
Adapting and Growing
Studying law at Ton Duc Thang University has been a challenging but rewarding journey. The program encourages students to think critically, work independently, and apply their knowledge in real-life scenarios. The mock trials and case studies have helped me become more confident in legal reasoning and argumentation.
Strengths & Areas for Improvement
One of the best aspects of the program is the seamless blend of theory and practice. We don’t just study the law—we engage with it through real case simulations, making learning more dynamic and applicable. However, one downside is that scholarships for international students are still quite limited.
Advice for Future Students
This program is ideal for those who are analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about justice. If you are considering a career in law, be prepared for a challenging but fulfilling academic journey. My advice? Stay curious, be proactive, and take every opportunity to apply your knowledge in real-world settings.

Graphic design study experience
What i like about the programe:
Good basic design method study
Good variations of field to try on
Dedicated teachers
great projects and pratices
What can be improved:
Students should be allowed to choose a field that they like to study more deeply. Currently, although I study many subjects, everything is only at a general level, not specialized enough.
Summerise:
Very enjoyable experience
