History
Maragheh University first started its work in Maragheh in 1987 with a major as an agricultural college. With the physical development and increase of majors, the school became a faculty from 1998 to 1999. Then, in 2005 and 2009, he was promoted to higher education complex and university, respectively.

University of Maragheh has one research center which conduct research and educational activities independently from the faculties and Institutes.
Career
The Office for Entrepreneurship and Industrial Relationship Group (OEIRG) is a department for research and enterprise excellence within the university of Maragheh that strive to produce groundbreaking researches to explain, restrain and improve entrepreneurship and innovation by working with partners in industry, academia and government.

Library services
The library of the University of Maragheh was established in 1987, then it moved to the new building in 2021. Since its establishment, with the expertise of its librarians and staff, the library has played an important role in the research and education of the University. The library resources can be lent to both registered students and staff.
ICT services
The aim of the Maragheh IT Center is to prepare high-quality information-system solutions that meet the needs of students and faculty members:
- Providing a variety of networking services for the entire university.
- Improving and upgrading networks and systems of the university.
- Providing comprehensive and effective online university services.
- Supporting data and information for university applications.
Medical services
The University's Health, Safety and Environment Working Group (HSE) was established in 2014 on the recommendation of Dr. Ahmad Aghaie. The main purpose of this group was to provide health of human resources, reduce occupational hazards and control environmental consequences.
