South Valley University (SVU) covers a large area in Upper Egypt with its two branches in Qena and Red Sea Governorates. The main campus is located in Qena city is 600 km away from south Cairo. The university includes a total of (19) faculties and two institutes. As a branch of Assiut University, the study began at SVU in October 1970.

The university includes several faculties and two institutes. As a branch of Assiut University, the study began at SVU in October 1970. According to a presidential decree, the university became independent on January 2, 1995.

Education

Other faculties include Arts, Law, Science, Special Education, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Commerce, Agriculture and Physical Education.

Library services

South Valley University has (25) libraries distributed among faculties and university dormitories as well as the central university library. (2) Such libraries include two libraries which are presented as gifts for the university – Al-Qoba Library at Qena Faculty of Arts and another library presented as a gift from (USAID) for Qena Faculty of agriculture.

Medical services

Medical Services - The Building of Faculty of Oral Medicine & Dentistry which was firstly and formally opened by his Excellency: The Egyptian Prime Minister in September 2018.

Campus life

One of the country’s more modern higher education institutions, Egypt’s South Valley University has 16 faculties split between its two campuses in Qena and Hurghada. Initially a branch of Assiut University, SVU was established in 1995. It has a second campus in the coastal city of Hurghada, just south of where the Gulf of Suez meets the Red Sea. Hurghada is home to the Faculty of Education.
