History
Satbayev University is one of the oldest educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. History of the University named after K.I. Satbaev, the flagship of the engineering education of the republic, is inextricably connected with the history of our state, its culture and the system of the higher education.

At the Kazakh Technical University after K. I. Satpaev the educational activity is delivered by seven Profile Institutes, International Institute of Postgraduate Education "Excellence polytech," Institute for Distance Learning, College.The university delivers training of:
- 28 bachelors educational programs of the technical sphere and 18 educational programs of nontechnical sphere
- 50 Masters educational programs
- 24 PhD educational programs
- on the base of college 18 bachelors short educational programs
- 5 international educational programs of Cyprus University
- 46 educational programs on the base of the second higher education

Library services
Scientific Library of the Satbayev University was founded on September 22, 1934 on the basis of the library of the Semipalatinsk geological College with an initial fond of about 1000 copies. Currently, its collection consists of about 2 million copies of scientific and technical literature, including rare publications on Geology and mining by outstanding researchers.
Sports facilities
Satbayev University has always been one of the centers of sport life of the republic. The Olympic champion in volleyball Valery Kravchenko, the world champion in classical wrestling Vladimir Bakulin, the conqueror of Everest Kazbek Valiev, the alpinist Valery Khristyatyy, the multiple champion of the republic on tennis Yegor Shaldunov studied and trained in its walls.In the framework of the modern and interesting program of sport development based on the vortex, which the department offers, any freshman can improve his health, learn exciting sports techniques and find a beautiful figure.
Student clubs
Numerous public, scientific, creative and sports associations, clubs and collectives, bright student holidays, informative forums and conferences are waiting for Satbayev University students. Every year in September, a “Student organizations’ fair" is held, during which everyone can open and present their community or join the community that they liked.

Life in Kazakhstan
Living in Kazakhstan while studying at Astana IT University has been a unique and enriching experience. Astana, the capital, is a city of contrasts, blending modern architecture with cultural heritage. The university�s location in the EXPO Business Center places it at the heart of this vibrant city, surrounded by iconic landmarks like the Nur Alem Pavilion. The city�s infrastructure is well-developed, with plenty of malls, cafes, and cultural venues like the Astana Opera, which I�ve enjoyed exploring. The university gives a comfortable and supportive environment. Student housing is modern, fostering a sense of community. Seasonal events and clubs have helped me make friends and feel connected. Winters are harsh but magical, while summers are warm and perfect for outdoor activities. Challenges include the high cost of living and the city�s remote location. Additionally, the university�s focus on IT limits opportunities for humanities students. Despite this, my time here has been a blend of academic growth and cultural immersion, making it a memorable chapter in my life.
Comfortable Housing Amid Harsh Winters
Astana IT University provides decent student housing that is affordable compared to other options in Nur-Sultan. The dormitories are compact but well-maintained, offering heating systems that are essential during Kazakhstan�s brutal winters. While the cold weather can be isolating at times, the university compensates by organizing indoor activities like traditional Kazakh music performances and dorm parties. The proximity of dorms to academic buildings makes commuting easy even during snowstorms. the housing setup ensures students have a comfortable living environment despite challenging weather conditions

When I first arrived at Astana IT University, everything felt foreign yet thrilling. The modern architecture mirrored my aspirations for innovation and creativity. My initial days were filled with uncertainty, but soon, that transformed into excitement as I discovered a community eager to learn and grow together. Looking back now, I see how those early days shaped my resilience and determination to succeed in this ever-evolving world.
