About

History

Set on 42 acres of wooded ground, only a 10 minute walk from Cork City Centre, our college was established in 1845 after a long campaign for a higher education institution in Munster.

Education

As a student at UCC, you will join a family that is woven from the threads of ancient heritage and a distinctly modern focus. Start your learning journey today!

Research

University College Cork (UCC) is an internationally competitive, research-led University that plays a key role in the development of Ireland’s knowledge-based economy. Our institutional research strategy focuses on creating and supporting world-leading clusters of researchers, building on the research strengths of the University, and is aligned with key Government strategies including the Strategy for Higher Education to 2030 (Hunt Report), and Ireland’s Strategy for Research and Development, Science and Technology, Innovation 2020.

Career

Education can be like a railway. You rattle along the track with the route pretty much laid out in front of you. But then the track runs out at the end of your degree course and you're left hanging over the edge. That's how many students feel. But there could be more options than you think.
