The Student Health Department provides services that target illnesses and problems that occur in the University Student population. It is not resourced to provide a GP service, but we provide a range of services that may not be as easily accessible in the community.
The UCC campus is one of the most beautiful in Europe - an idyllic campus on the banks of the river Lee, within walking distance of a historic city steeped in culture and tradition. Old limestone buildings blend seamlessly with stunning modern architecture against a backdrop of mature gardens.
An international survey conducted by International Graduate Insight Group in 2015 ranked UCC 1st in Ireland for its sport's facilities. UCC has 59 Sports Clubs and 78 active student societies.
The Mardyke Arena, UCC consists of a 25m swimming pool, international sized basketball court, dressing rooms, climbing wall and an external viewing gallery over a recently installed indoor and outdoor running track. It is a landmark university sports and leisure facility purpose built on the existing campus sports grounds.
Other facilities also include a swimming pool, multi-purpose sports hall, state of the art gym’s and associated admin, office, restaurant and support facilities.
UCC is home to more than one hundred different societies.
Cork University Business School in UCC has now been accredited by the AACSB and AMBA (Association of MBAs), making it a double accredited Business School, of which there are fewer than 200 worldwide.
