History
The British University in Dubai (BUiD) was established in 2003 to be the region’s leading research-based postgraduate university, facilitating world-class education, training and research. Over the last 20 years, BUiD has graduated hundreds of Masters and Doctoral students in the fields of Education, Engineering, Management, Business, Law and IT. In 2018 BUiD offered its first undergraduate programmes after it had carved a niche for itself as an exclusively graduate university.
Education
The British University in Dubai was established to be a leading research-based university in the region. BUiD has been working towards achieving this goal by promoting research-based activities in different fields of knowledge through its innovative academic research, by building capacity and awareness, and by offering educational programmes in which relevant skills and knowledge are developed.The most important two activities with regard to knowledge dissemination and development are education and research. These two activities are actually interconnected in BUiD. All of our educational programmes are research- based where modules (courses) have research element embedded in them. Students are not only assessed in term of exams; they are also assessed by original research elements.
