History
Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) is an Engineering and Technology University in Brunei Darussalam that specialises in the niche areas of Engineering, Business, Computing, Applied Sciences & Mathematics, and Design.
UTB was first established in 1986 as Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB).
Education
Choosing to study at UTB means joining a university that is closer to industry than ever. Our programmes gave our students practical, work-based experience alongside traditional academic learning, to enable our graduates take on challenges of today’s working world.
Research
In terms of research, UTB strives to become a university that contributes to the enrichment of knowledge and solving contemporary issues that focuses on energy, sustainable built environment, agri-food, digital and creativity, society and enterprise, and wellness. In 2018, the Centre for Research in Agri-food Science & Technology (CrAFT) was established to support the nation’s aspiration to diversify its economy by strengthening the agri-food industry using science and technology.

Student Affairs Office is here to ensure your study years in Universiti Teknologi Brunei to be a memorable one.
Our team is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a variety of services designed to assist and support students in achieving academic excellence and personal success.
In order to achieve both as mentioned, strike a balance between academic and co-curricular. We encourage all students to self-gear towards becoming a 360˚+ profile student. It is our mission to instill leadership and create a caring student population who willingly participate in activities.
Housing services
On-campus Residential College are available at a walking distance to university.
Library services
The library space itself consists of a multi-story facility that extends from the ground floor up to the third floor of the building. At level one is accommodated a cafeteria which is now essential for students’ daily lifestyle at a university. The library is also adjacent to the Student Centre, another focal point for students’ activities.
ICT services
The Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Centre maintains the campus-wide network and system infrastructure as well as carry out ICT projects for the University. It also provides support services in the following areas:

Medical services
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is dedicated to support and advise in all aspect of health, safety and environment for staff, students and visitors. This goal is accomplished by developing programmes and guidelines to ensure that everyone is engaging and encouraging a culture of safety that will prevent fatalities, injuries, illness and disabilities.

UTB Library Café : Bakers and Books
- Staff and students to dine-in over a good book with coffee and cakes in a space surrounded by greenery.
Student Cafeteria
- Various vendors serving variety of Malay food are available for dine in.
UTB Koperasi
- A university tuckshop selling stationeries, drinks and snacks amongst many other items.
Sports facilities
Sports play a pivotal role in shaping one’s personality and maintaining good health. It is an avenue to be outside of the academic classroom and meet new inter-school/faculty friends. The University intended for a sports environment fit for student extracurricular experience which all is provided to them on the campus. These activities provide a useful channel for the growth and development of the body.
Student clubs
Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPPUTB) has EXCO which manages clubs and Campus L.E.A.D. manages Student Chapters and programs.
Each Student Club and Student Chapter has a Supervisor. Any staff may register to be a supervisor to any clubs or programs
