The founders of Bucerius Law School wanted to create a law school that was to lead by example: close to legal practice, internationally oriented and excellent in research and teaching.

History

In 2000, one of the largest private foundations in Germany - the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius - founded the Bucerius Law School - the country's first private law school.
The aim was to create a new type of law school that would realize the ideal of unifying research and teaching, and where committed teaching would be valued just as much as academic research.

The Hengeler Mueller Library is open exclusively for students of Bucerius Law School and provides a choice selection of books, online publications and databases. Its quality computer work stations, books scanners and wifi-enabled printers as well as 20 group study rooms are available to you 24/7.

Bucerius Law School is located in a truly prime location between Hamburg's downtown area and one of the city's largest recreational parks. It's easily accessible via public transportation and close to the city's main sites as well as its vibrant student and bar districts.
Its modern facilities - complete with caferia, coffee lounge, gym, napping rooms and even a day care center - make Bucerius Law School a one-stop-shop for any international student.

Exceeding expectations

My programe at Bucerius merges a clasic law study with an MBA. It makes you gain the right skills to become an interdisciplinary lawyer.

The best decision of my life!

I like how it was practice oriented. Also i gained amazing network which is really important in my profession. The greatest Business Law masters in Europe!
