History
Istanbul Gedik University is a part of the Gedik Education Foundation (GEF) established by Gedik Holding on September 7, 1994, to contribute to the development of welding technology in Turkey.
Education
Since its establishment in 1994, the Gedik Education Foundation has been providing its knowledge, technology, and resources to the country, especially in the field of welding. The Gedik Education Foundation, which is becoming stronger and expanding its scope, aims to spread its influence not only in welding technologies and engineering but also in every area needed by the country

Student services
The Student Affairs Department considers serving students from enrollment to graduation as its primary duty. It has adopted the mission of contributing to the educational process at our university by providing timely and accurate information and documents to students, faculty members, senior management, administrative and academic units, and the institutions we are affiliated with.
Housing services
There is no dormitory belonging to our university. However, we have discount agreements with various dormitories close to our campuses.
Library services
The university's central library opened in 2012 at the Kartal Campus. Our library has a national and international collection that is easily accessible to all students. In addition, the Law Faculty Library opened in the fall semester of 2019 with a rich collection of books.
Medical services
The Department of Health, Culture and Sports, which was established to meet the nutrition, housing, health, sports, culture and other social needs of Istanbul Gedik University students, is a health institution, a service unit that meets the social, cultural counselling and guidance and sports needs of students.

Sports facilities
Camlik Sport Facilities located in Pendik is put into use of Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Sport Sciences and university students. In this facility, there is an indoor Basketball Hall, Carpet Field (2), Tennis Court (2), Outdoor Basketball, Volleyball Court (2), Tartan Ground Athletic Track, a children’s playground, as well as a cafeteria and administrative units and a parking lot for 150 vehicles.
