In 2006, a royal decree was issued that established the first university for girls in Riyadh, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and with the aim of serving the development and progress of the Kingdom. Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University received the renewed accreditation certificate from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday, 20 November 2025, designating it once again as a Health-Promoting University for the period 2024–2027, after fulfilling all global standards and approved requirements.
