History
The seed of what is today known as the Universitat Politècnica de València was planted in the academic year 1968-1969, when the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Valencia was created. At that time it comprised four schools: the School of Agricultural Engineering, founded in 1959; the School of Architecture, inaugurated in 1966.
Education
At present, the UPV comprises 13 university centres, of which nine are higher technical schools, two are faculties and another two, higher polytechnic schools. In addition, it has a Doctoral School and three affiliated centres (Florida University, Berklee College of Music and EDEM Business School).
Research
The label UPV research structures encompasses all those centres that work in research, development and innovation, and try to respond to the demand -both from the University itself and from its social enviroment- for technological and artistic products. They fall into three categories: UPV's own (unshared) research centres, joint and associated research centres, and inter-university research centres.
Career
The UPV's Servipoli Foundation assists you in finding temporary jobs that are compatible with your studies both on- and off-campus so you can earn extra money without having to miss your classes.
