History
Ever since its founding in 1868, TUM has been at the forefront of innovation. TUM scientists today have the same goal as their 19th century counterparts: finding solutions to the major challenges facing society as we move forward. TUM was founded to provide the state of Bavaria with a center of learning dedicated to the natural sciences.
Education
For the third time in a row, the TUM won the title of "Excellence University" in July 2019. This makes TUM the only technical university that has been consistently successful in the excellence competition of the federal and state governments from the beginning (2006).
Research
Whether exploring the fundamentals of life, matter, and the universe, or seeking solutions to the major challenges of society, we are at the center of our research and innovation agenda. The "Human-Centered Engineering" aims as a far-reaching reform concept to guide the scientific and technical excellence of the TUM into the world of ideas of a modern society.

Accreditation
TUM was system-accredited by the Swiss Center of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (OAQ) on 14 May 2014, with no stipulations imposed. The decision reached by the OAQ's Accreditation Commission is valid through 30 September 2021, and applies to all degree programs that have passed TUM's internal QM assessment procedures.

TUM worth the grind
TUM is very demanding and constantly ensures a high quality of education, making a degree from this university very valuable. The high costs of living in Munich should not keep you from studying here, it will pay off in the end!
My perspective
Ultimately the course provides an opportunity for students to get industry experience. The reason I chose this course is because of the duration of internship it offers as well as the learning experience that I can attain as a foundation as my diploma was from a total different direction. And I got the interest from having a part tome job while I was studying for my diploma. Because the school doesn't have a single, unified campus, courses are taught in different locations. That means there's little opportunity to mix with students from other programs, and the lively vibe that I'd hoped for just isn't there. It's one disappointing thing to say.

It’s very hard
My overall study experience has been both challenging and rewarding. Studying chemistry has helped me develop strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams. I particularly enjoyed the practical laboratory sessions, where I could apply theoretical knowledge to real experiments. Those hands-on experiences deepened my understanding and made the learning process more engaging.
