Munich Business School (at that time named Europäische Betriebswirtschafts-Akademie) is founded in 1991 by the European Business Schools International (ebsi) London, Paris, Madrid and Milan. The initiators pursue one purpose above all others: To establish new benchmarks for practical orientation and internationality for business education in the economic center of Southern Germany.
The innovative program concept of Munich Business School aims at the high demands internationally operating businesses place on their junior staff members. The basic principle of the study programs are the deliberate orientation in international operations and work content within companies, which is created through the tight integration of practical studies and domestic and international practical involvement phases. This allows students to actually implement the skills in practice, therefore achieving additional learning success. The location in Munich and the university's close ties to the industry provide the ideal conditions.
Research means more than counting publications: Munich Business School strives to contribute to the development of practical solutions to relevant business and social challenges. In the area of research, we are concentrating on selected research fields: The research fields "Digital Transformation" and "International Business" address two megatrends and their influence on business administration and management. These are a research topic in themselves, but also have an impact on all relevant business areas. In line with the university's mission, the areas of "Leadership & Responsibility", "Innovation & Entrepreneurship" and "Marketing & Communication" form further research focuses.
The MBS Career Center serves as the interface between the students of Munich Business School and companies and enterprises. The MBS Career Center attends to the career concerns of the students and establishes contacts with the economy to bridge the gap for optimum staffing. Consequently, companies and enterprises have a permanent presence at Munich Business School.
All MBS students receive extensive support for planning and realizing their professional goals. Starting at the search for internships in Germany and abroad, it also includes assistance for making first contacts to potential employers and consulting in later phases of career and graduation.
