The rich ore deposits in the Harz Mountains were the breeding ground for the economic importance of the region as a center of raw materials production. They formed the roots of the “Clausthaler montanistische Lehrstätte” founded in 1775 from which the internationally renowned “Bergakademie” (Mining Academy of Clausthal) originated in 1864.

I have had the opportunity to experience the excellent academic activities going on in TU-Clausthal from the point of my online application, the enquiries,the offer of admission and to the point of enrollment. They offer a good academic assistance and helpline to the prospective graduate student and it really helped me to this point.

My overall study experience was both challenging and rewarding. Studying English Language and Literature at Mogadishu University gave me a strong foundation in communication, critical thinking, and language analysis, which later became essential in my professional career as a medical secretary and translator. I especially appreciated how the program improved my reading, writing, and translation skills, as well as my confidence in using English in professional settings. What I liked most about my studies was the opportunity to develop strong language proficiency and cultural understanding. The exposure to literature, linguistics, and practical language use helped me become more accurate and professional in translation work, particularly in medical contexts. The supportive learning environment and interaction with lecturers and fellow students also played an important role in my personal and academic growth. However, I believe the experience could have been improved with more practical training, such as internships, advanced translation workshops, and greater use of technology in language learning. More hands-on experience related to real workplace scenarios would have better prepared students for the job market.
