About

History

Founded on August 6, 1868 as the “Scuola Superiore di Commercio” (Advanced School for Commerce), Ca' Foscari was the first Italian institution to deal with advanced education in Business and Economics. The original main office is still found in the grand gothic palace “volta de canal” (on the bend of the Grand Canal), in the heart of Venice.

Education

You can choose among 40 Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, divided into different study areas: Economics and management, Languages and cultures, Arts and humanities, Public policies and social change, International studies and globalization, Conservation and management of cultural heritage.

Student services

The Housing Office is a service provided by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice to Italian and international students, researchers, professors and administrative staff coming to study or work at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Housing services

Ca' Foscari Housing Office – through the real estate company Immuni srl (operating under the STURENT brand) identifies and selects suitable housing solutions available on the market. The landlords willing to rent their apartments to professors, administrative staff or Italian and international students studying at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, can refer to the desk or contact the office to book an appointment and organise a visit of their apartment.

Library services

The University Library System (SBA) offers information resources and services for teaching and research, ensuring the conservation, the access, the development and the enhancement of the libraries holdings. It also offers support for databases, catalogs, platforms, etc. and promotes the dissemination of research and scientific information networking with other libraries.

ICT services

Ca' Foscari presents a new platform which, through artificial intelligence, cognitive sciences and computational linguistics, connects ideas, extracted from academic publications. Yewno allows you to develop unexpected research paths with interactive graphics that allow you to easily move from one link to another.

Student Life

Sports facilities

The University Sports Centre of Venice (CUS) offers university students the possibility to participate in a wide variety of sports: judo and personal defence, aerobics and other kinds of gymnastics, fitness, volleyball, basketball, tennis, handball and five-aside-football. There is also a sauna.

In the city centre and on the mainland there are also sports facilities for rowing and 'voga alla veneta', sailing, canoeing and kayaking, golf, horse riding, free climbing and swimming.

The CUS also offers university members the possibility to take part in summer and winter camps and organize interfaculty tournaments of football, volleyball, basketball, tennis and five-a-side football.

Student clubs

Ca' Foscari students who wish to take part in leisure, learning, cultural support activities or organize and manage study groups may form associations of at least 30 students.Registered student associations may request funding for their initiatives: announcement for the allocation of funds are made twice a year.
