History
Founded on 6 August 1868 as the first international business school in Italy, Ca' Foscari has always offered an interdisciplinary, globally minded education. In the last 150 years, the university has expanded its research and teaching beyond language and cultural studies and the social sciences to include the humanities and the hard sciences.

While many of Ca' Foscari's programmes are taught in Italian, more than 25 bachelor's and master's degrees are taught entirely in English.

Housing services
Ca' Foscari's Housing Office is available to help you identify and choose accommodations that satisfy your budget and expectations.
In the last few years, the university has invested heavily in the contruction of new, modern student residences. One is located on the Economic Campus, another near the Linguistic and Humanities campuses, and a third on the Scientific Campus. All of these facilities offer the services you expect and the convenience of being close to where your classes and studying take place.
Library services
Ca' Foscari's library system comprises six different thematically-organized libraries, all of which offer information and services in support of research and learning. Scattered across the university's various campuses, they ensure that the resources and study spaces you need are always nearby.
ICT services
Ca' Foscari offers state-of-the-art IT support and resources, including a Google account that serves as your institutional email address, an online learning platform that supports your learning beyond the classroom, and access to a myriad of digital tools that powerfully enhance the quality of your study and research experience.
Campus life
Ca' Foscari has a number of different campuses.
The Humanities and Linguistic campuses are located in the historic centre of Venice. Their buildings are modernized historical buildings integrated into the urban fabric of the city, thereby making Venice itself part of the campus experience.
Also situated in Venice's historic centre, the Economic Campus has a more traditional structure, grouping all of the buildings used for classrooms, offices, the library and study spaces around a central quad.
The Scientific Campus, rather, is found on the mainland, only a 10-minute ride from the historic island of Venice. It's entirely modern facilities, begun only 10 years ago, are still being expanded.
Sports facilities
The University Sports Centre of Venice offers the possibility to participate in a wide variety of sports, including judo and personal defence, aerobics and other kinds of gymnastics, fitness, volleyball, basketball, tennis, handball and five-a-side football. There is also a sauna.
In the city centre and on the mainland there are also sports facilities for rowing and 'voga alla veneta', sailing, canoeing and kayaking, golf, horseback riding, free climbing and swimming.
The centre also offers university members the possibility to take part in summer and winter camps and organizes tournaments of football, volleyball, basketball, tennis and five-a-side football.
Student clubs
Ca' Foscari students have organized a large number of student association dedicated to a wide range of activities and interests. Some focus on cultural activities and exchange, while others bring together students with shared passions. There is something for everyone!
