Natural Sciences & Mathematics (1)

After its original founding in 1402 – the fourth founding of a university in present-day Germany and the first founding of a university in Bavaria – Julius-Maximilians-Universität (JMU) Würzburg was permanently endowed and established in 1582 on the initiative of Prince-Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn. The name “Julius” in JMU traces back to the Prince-Bishop.

The University of Würzburg now offers more than 100 subjects in the humanities, social and natural sciences, life sciences, medicine and selected areas of engineering. We prepare our students for careers in a wide range of fields and we aim to closely coordinate our teaching with our current research activities. Our students work with renowned scientists from all over the world and, with the completion of their Bachelor’s, Master’s or doctoral degrees, make their own contributions to science.

We are committed to continuing excellence in research and teaching across all branches of science.

The University of Würzburg uses the CareerLink recruiting platform for external vacancies. CareerLink is a free online service that helps employers connect with JMU students and alumni. Employers can post vacancies on CareerLink and receive applications from our students directly via the platform, per email, or via the careers sections of their own websites.
