Practical and enriching bachelor
During this Bachelor's program, I had the opportunity to shape my academic path multiple times. In the first year, we were introduced to fundamental scientific subjects, after which we could choose between a focus on biology or chemistry. Furthermore, I chose to specialize in Cancer and Developmental Biology, aligning with my interests. Additionally, we were encouraged to pursue a minor in a complementary field to deepen our knowledge. As part of the curriculum, we also completed two internships, which provided valuable insight into the realities of working in the scientific field. This bachelor's program offered a wide range of engaging courses, but what stood out most was the emphasis on laboratory and practical work. This hands-on experience fostered curiosity and encouraged students to take initiative in their learning.
A Rewarding Experience at HAN University
I’ve really enjoyed my time studying Systems Engineering at HAN University. The program has given me both practical skills and strong theoretical knowledge, and the professors are very supportive. I like how the projects are hands-on and often connected to real industry challenges, which makes learning exciting and relevant. The international environment has also helped me grow personally and professionally. Overall, it’s been a rewarding experience that’s preparing me well for my future career
Do not pick this university
I really don’t recommend any international students come to this school. I lost my mental health during my studies. Attendance rules don’t seem to apply to Dutch students, and in oral exams they are favored. Even when Dutch students don’t contribute to group projects, teachers still make them pass. If you are Dutch, then this school might be fine for you. Bachelor’s degrees are supposed to take four years here, but in reality they overload you with exams, so you will likely graduate in at least five years. That seems like a tactic to get more money.
