Description
The MRIWA Odwyn Jones PhD scholarship is offered annually by the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA) to encourage and enable a student of exceptional research promise to undertake a PhD degree in any discipline relevant to the minerals industry at a university in Western Australia.

Benefits
This scholarship provides a stipend of up to $38,689 per annum (paid fortnightly) and $5,527 annually to support research expenses, payable for up to three years, with the possibility of a 6-month extension.
Eligibility
- The successful candidate must meet the minimum academic entry requirement for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy program including the English proficiency levels set by Curtin University.
Candidates should have:
- Master's or bachelor's (first class honours) degree in a relevant discipline.
- Language requirement (IELTS, Overall 6.5, Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening 6.0 or TOEFL, Overall 79, Reading, 13, Listening 13, Speaking 18, Writing 21).

Applicants for the MRIWA Odwyn Jones PhD scholarship must have applied for entry to a PhD program at their intended host university, and submit a completed application form and research proposal to MRIWA before the closing date. Application forms and templates will be available from MRIWA (mriwa.wa.gov.au) from July 1st.
