Description

The UOC - Doctoral School grants for completing doctoral theses involve exclusive dedication by the student and their physical presence at the University's facilities. The standard period that the grant covers is three years, and the grants are subject to an annual renewal. This renewal depends on the students' meeting the learning and research objectives established in each particular case.

The UOC is a fully accredited online university. Its headquarters are in Barcelona and its students, from all around the world, total more than 80,000 a year. The UOC welcomes students seeking to develop their research in an international environment, with highly qualified colleagues, and in programmes that adhere to the Bologna Process.

In order to promote the training of researchers in the different research groups at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), the UOC is awarding twelve (12) predoctoral grants for doctoral theses in the framework of the doctoral programmes in Society, Technology and Culture; Network and Information Technologies; Education and ICT (E-learning); Humanities and Communication; Health and Psychology, and Law, Politics and Economics.

Predoctoral grant holders will have all those employment and other rights relating to social security deriving from the contract signed with the UOC.

The grant includes a final payment of €1,500 gross which is payable if the doctoral thesis has been defended before the end of the predoctoral contract, and so long as the student has obtained the highest academic grade at the thesis defence: Excellent cum laude.
