The Chemical Engineering and Material Sciences program of the University of Pannonia was established on January 1, 2001 as the highest level of chemical engineering education at the university. Since then, more than 100 students have earned the PhD degree in our doctoral school.
The structure of the program
In the first 4 semesters credits can be collected with studying, teaching or publishing scientific results in high quality journals. The remaining credits can be collected with teaching and publishing in the final two years. The minimal credit requirements for these three parts can be seen in the figure.
Research-related jobs usually require a PhD degree, for which this course provides the necessary qualification. PhD graduates have the appropriate skills to continue their scientific career in at University of Pannonia or at other universities, or research institutes.
During the study PhD students are involved into the lecturing and also project works, which are usually corresponding to actual industrial problems with important representatives of industrial cooperation. Hence, next to the scientific conferences there is another way to increase the social network.
