The International Journalism programme at RUDN University is aimed at training of high-level staff developing their competences such as ability to take part in teamwork of professional groups, to make projects and realize complex research including interdisciplinary one, readiness to teach students according to main higher educational programmes, etc. 


The International Journalism at RUDN University  covers all areas of modern international journalism: preparation and writing texts for all kinds of media, analysis of the international situation and its media coverage, promotion of modern Russia in the international arena. 

PhD students are involved in professional competitions, inter-university and international scientific conferences, act as jury members at various events in the Central House of Journalists.

This programme requires students to demonstrate proficiency in English.

Academic Requirements

  • Copy of your degree certificate and diploma supplement. The documents of a foreign state must be legalized or apostilled.
  • Submit their translation into Russian.
  • Your application will be considered by the main criteria: overall GPA of your degree certificate, marks for the major subjects.
  • Confirm your consent to study at RUDN University by e-mail and pay the offer contract.
  • Original degree certificate translated and legalized.
  • Original supplement to the degree certificate legalized according to established procedure and its translation into Russian;
  • Original passport and its translation into Russian;
  • Certificate of the HIV-negative status and AIDS-negative status.
  • 6 identical 3x4 black-and-white photos.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.

To that end, you will have to apply for the scholarship programme of the Government of the Russian Federation which provides for free training for 15,000 foreign citizens from all over the world at the Russian Universities.
