About

All staff are research active within the three main strands that comprise our profile: Theatre/Performance Studies, Applied Theatre, and Screen Studies.  The Drama program is offered by The University of Manchester.

Overview

These areas interlink, and both staff and students are keen to cross the boundaries from one area of research to another.

About the program

The research degrees of MPhil and PhD are offered in any of the main three strands of Drama at The University of Manchester :

You will have a supervisor with a specialism related to your field of research, and have the option to write a full 80,000 word thesis or complete a practice-based dissertation. The practice-based dissertation gives you the opportunity to submit practice as part of your final thesis submission.

The staff/student seminar series, Cultivating Research, provides a regular forum of debate and the presentation of short papers on a wide range of topics, and acts as a focal point in the postgraduate research culture.
