Overview
The graduates are prepared primarily for clinically focused laboratory research. They will be able to work in diagnostic and research laboratories, as well as being able to perform basic research or practically focused research involving laboratory diagnostics within the commercial sector. The programme consists of 2 primary branches: Pathologic Anatomy and Forensic Medicine as the first branch, the second branch being Clinical Immunology.

The graduates of the Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology programme at Masaryk University can find their occupation especially in research laboratories, yet they are also fully equipped to work in diagnostic laboratories focusing on the disciplines that are a part of their study programme. Of major significance is the possibility of working in the academic environment, as well as in the commercial sector for subjects focused on medical laboratory work.

- Microbial Biofilms in Medicine - Diagnosis, the Clinical Significance, and the Therapy Options,
- New Methods of Antimicrobial Therapy, Uses for Bacteriophages, Herbal Extracts, and other substances carrying an antimicrobial effect,
- New Methods of Microbial Agent Diagnosis, especially using the Capillary Electrophoresis method and Raman Spectroscopy,
- The Study of the Carcinogenesis in Selected Types of Cancer using a wide spectrum of molecular pathology methods,
- Prognostic and Predictive Markers for Different Types of Cancer and the Possibilities of Their Application in the Management of Patients with Cancer,
- Forensic Alcohology,
- Gunshot Wounds
