Overview
This Bioinformatics programme offered by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona focuses on an interdisciplinary field combining biology, computing, and data analysis, addressing the rapid expansion of large-scale datasets generated in scientific and medical research. It brings together multiple universities and research centres, creating a collaborative environment that supports high-level specialization and innovation.
Key Facts
The academic experience integrates expertise from institutions and industry partners, supported by networks that connect universities, research centres, and companies. Participants explore areas such as modelling, computational genetics, systems approaches, and data-intensive investigation, preparing for roles in sectors where research, development, and innovation are essential.
Each candidate is assigned a thesis director responsible for guiding the project, ensuring originality, feasibility, and alignment with established research directions. Supervision includes advising on methodology, monitoring progress, facilitating access to academic resources, and supporting thesis completion, with possibilities for external or joint guidance when justified.
