- Master’s degree in Economics (minimum 60 ECTS) or equivalent required
- Prior studies must cover macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, and quantitative methods

- Minimum grade of 7 required for MAREB applicants; others must show equivalent standards
- Academic record evaluated (60%)
- Research grants considered (10%)
- Research stays abroad evaluated (10%)
- Personal interview assessed (20%)
- Up to 30 ECTS of supplementary training may be required in economics or quantitative methods
