Cancer sciences covers a broad area of research that aims to gain a better understanding of the aetiology and biology of cancer combined with new approaches for prevention , therapy, diagnosis and monitoring of the disease. This Cancer Sciences degree is offered at The University of Manchester.

Research:
- Research is interdisciplinary, with the application of molecular and cell biology, bioinformatics, structural biology, imaging, metabolomics, medicinal and analytical chemistry.
- We ask key questions in how cancers develop, how we can define new targets for improved therapy and how we can better diagnose and monitor both disease progression and treatment response.

- We require applicants to hold, or be about to obtain, an Upper Second class Honours degree, or the equivalent qualification gained outside the UK, in a related subject area for entry to a PhD programme.
- A Lower Second class Honours degree may be considered if applicants also hold a Master's degree with a Merit classification.
