Overview
The joint EPFL – ETH Zurich Doctoral Program in the Learning Sciences (JDPLS) educates a new generation of bilingual scientists, who will bring together knowledge and methods from multiple disciplines such as psychology, education, computer science and data science to answer questions of how people learn and hence how to teach in the digital age.

General requirements
- Admission to the program is on a competitive basis. Candidates will be pre-selected by the learning sciences program committee and have to be accepted by a professor affiliated with the JDPLS, either at EPFL or at ETH Zurich, to be admitted into the program.
- PhD students have a salary as well as course requirements and TA duties. Upon defending their thesis, a graduate will obtain something unique – a joint degree from two premier universities, EPFL and ETH Zurich, both ranked in the top-15 universities in the world.
