About the program
Adhering to the concepts of "high-end scientific research talents" and "excellent engineers", the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University carries out research around major national scientific research projects and international cooperation projects, and cultivate a group of broad theoretical foundations, systematic professional knowledge, and a comprehensive grasp of the frontier dynamics of subject development.
It aims to develop high-quality environmental engineering talents with solid ability to solve specific problems and extensive international academic exchanges.

- Master’s degree for doctoral program applicants
- Degree certificates, in scanned files
- Transcripts, in scanned files. Doctoral program applicants are required to submit both undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
- Proof of language proficiency
- Scanned copy of passport.
- Passport-size photo.
- Personal statement and study plan
- Two letters of academic recommendation from scholars who are associate professors or above, or senior professionals in a related academic field
- If you are applying for programs of the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology or School of Mechanical Engineering, you are required to contact the supervisor beforehand and provide an acceptance letter by the supervisor.
