About the program
The Bioeconomy research program at Heidelberg University consists of three research networks in the areas biogas, lignocellulose and microalgae, and as integrative activities the competence network modeling the bioeconomy, the graduate program BBW ForWerts and accompanying research activities in social sciences and ecology.
Programme Structure
Research areas include:
- Lignocellulose: Alternative ressource platform for new materials and products
- Microalgae: Integrated use for the food and feed
- Biogas: Sustainable and flexible value chains in Baden-Württemberg
- Modeling the bioeconomy: Competence Network for biomass utilisation pathways
- Accompanying research in social sciences and ecology: Interdisciplinary topics
