Overview
This Geochemistry programme offered by Stockholm University focuses on the study of chemical processes across natural systems, including minerals, soils, waters, and the atmosphere. It supports research into organic, inorganic, and biogeochemical processes, as well as the behaviour of elements and isotopes in different environmental contexts.
Key Facts
The academic environment integrates multiple subfields such as biogeochemistry, organic geochemistry, environmental geochemistry, and chemical cycles in marine and lacustrine settings. Training combines methodological development, interdisciplinary perspectives, and independent research, enabling the ability to investigate complex processes and contribute to scientific understanding through a doctoral thesis.Programme Structure
