- Master’s degree or 240 credits including 60 at advanced level, or equivalent knowledge required
- At least 60 advanced credits in Media and Communication or Journalism studies required
- Independent academic work of at least 15 credits required
- English proficiency equivalent to at least TOEFL 550 required
- Previous written work assessed for research design, analysis, independence, and methodological awareness
- Ability to complete the dissertation on time evaluated based on past performance and research plan
- Selection based on quality of academic work and capacity to complete doctoral studies
