The aim of the "Molecular Biosciences" doctoral programme at University of Bayreuth is to provide young scientists with an excellent education that enables them to contribute creatively to the further development of scientific concepts and to pursue competitive careers in the molecular biosciences.

Programme Structure
Curriculum:
- The scientific work on the research project itself forms the core of the doctoral training.
- During their doctoral studies, each doctoral candidate is accompanied by a mentoring committee consisting of three scientists.
- At the beginning of the doctoral programme, the doctoral candidate develops a research plan that presents the thesis project and is discussed and further developed with his or her mentoring committee.
- Annual interim reports serve to regularly evaluate and optimise the progress of the research project.
- In addition, each doctoral candidate completes an individual training programme that is optimally geared towards the specific skills and needs of the doctoral candidate, and to the requirements of the scientific doctoral project.

- A copy of your university entrance qualification (Abitur certificate).
- Bachelor's and Master's degrees (or diploma degrees) from a field of study that is directly related to the doctoral programme (e.g. physics, chemistry, biochemistry, material sciences).
- If an applicant has passed all relevant examinations but no certificates have yet been issued (e.g. Master's certificate), alternative proof of academic achievement ("confirmation citing the individual grades of all academic achievements") can be submitted.
- Where available, evidence of special qualifications (e.g. vocational training, awards, internships, scholarships, stays abroad), if these relate to the content of the doctoral programme.
- Three suggested specialist mentors.
