Overview
This thesis-based Communication and Media Studies degree at the University of Calgary is designed for students who want to pursue a research or scholarly career.
Some of our focus areas include: animation studies, Canadian cinema, communication infrastructure, digital media and social movements, internet policy, rhetoric studies, and visual culture studies.
We encourage students to develop their own unique programs of study that reach beyond traditional topics and discipline boundaries.

- A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point system, over the past two years of full-time study (a minimum of 10 full-course equivalents or 60 units) of the undergraduate degree.
- A completed Master's degree in Communications Studies or related field.
