Key facts

The Division of Mental Health Nursing and Counselling is also home to the Tayside Centre for Counselling – a counselling clinic, which supports research degrees in areas such as adjustment to disability and/or long-term health conditions, the effectiveness of counselling interventions, and development of the Pluralistic Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy Integration.

The clinic is a partner to a number of other UK institutions with shared research aims. The Pluralism as a Framework and Approach to Counselling and Social and Health Interventions programme is offered at Abertay University.

The minimum entry requirement for all our research degrees is an Upper Second Class Honours degree (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in an appropriate discipline and/or a Master’s degree.
In some cases, appropriate professional or experiential learning may be considered in combination with a lower classification of Honours degree.
