Overview
The Ecological, Veterinary, Agronomic, and Bioengineering Sciences programme offered by INSA Toulouse - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées provides doctoral training in biological sciences, focusing on the study of interactions between living systems at different scales, from genomes and populations to communities and ecosystems. It supports both fundamental research and applied studies, covering areas such as evolutionary dynamics, ecosystem functioning, and biological production systems.
Key Facts
Students explore a broad range of research themes including biodiversity, global environmental change, sustainable development, food safety, and bioprocesses. The programme emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, enabling the study of complex biological systems, including microbial communities, plant–microorganism interactions, and ecological disturbances affecting natural environments.
The programme also promotes understanding of environmental management and biological resource use through diverse research settings and collaborative structures. Students develop expertise in analyzing ecological risks, biological development, and system performance, contributing to research in areas such as ecosystem dynamics, health-related biology, and sustainable biosystems.
